“What about the girl?” Morrigan called out from the kitchen as she set some plasma juice on a tray.
“The girl is on her way to Twinbrook. As long as she keeps her mouth shut – which I’m sure she will – there’s no need to worry about her. Wogan explained everything to the chief of police. As long as the murders have stopped, they’ll do their part in keeping the true story hushed up.”
“They have agreed to act ignorant about her having lived with him.” Wogan chimed in. “They don’t want any more controversy.”
“Can you imagine what drama will break out if the public knew he was keeping her captive and murdering all willy-nilly!” Morrigan gasped as she walked in and handed each one a plasma juice.
“I say we should have drank her dry, fed that brat to Vladimir and killed the butler. Oh and have Davy watch the entire thing. That ought to drive him insane.” Beau sniggered and nudged Wogan. They all glared back at him nastily.
“Well fine then! If no one wants my input I’ll just shut my bloody mouth.” He huffed.
“That’s the smartest thing you’ve said since we started this task.” Elvira was still giving him dirty looks.
“The butler?” She asked more in Wogan’s direction.
“Keep him? They come in handy.” He suggested.
“Yeah but Elvie will need to keep stuffing his face with ambrosia. That’s what Davrin gave him to keep him alive all these centuries.” Beau pointed out.
“How do you know that?” Morrigan had joined in on the conversation.
“I read his mind.” He answered flatly.
“I read his mind.” He answered flatly.
“I don’t need a butler. Besides it would be dangerous to have him around. The last time he had found Davrin. His loyalty is unrivalled and he may find ways to free his master.”
“Lock him up in another chamber.” Beau butted in. “If he doesn’t consume ambrosia he will eventually age like any mortal and from what I can tell he doesn’t have many years left in him.”
They agreed on this.
“As for the child...” Elvira was looking over at Troye who had waddled his way over and was now staring up at Morrigan who picked him up and propped him on her lap. The tyke had been restless all week and the only person he seemed to take to was her. She and her husband exchanged looks. “We don’t mind keeping him with us. We wanted a second a child so...” Wogan started.
“As for the child...” Beau cut him off. “He is Davy’s life – before that Azwhatsherface. If he knows we have the kid he’ll come after us the moment he escapes or is set free. And then we’ll have two deranged Sinestra’s in this city. Besides we don’t know if he’s really one of us yet so technically killing him won’t be illegal under the terms of vampire law.”
Again all eyes were on him. He grinned, basking in the attention – even if it wasn’t for the right reasons.
“But he has the mark.” Morrigan announced.
“Could be dirt. He's an abomination.” Beau retorted, immovable on his stance to kill off those close to Davrin – accidentally of course.
“He should be reunited with his mother.” Elvira stated, not entirely sure if the child should be raised by vampires if there was the slight chance that he wouldn’t metamorphose into one and not sure that he should be raised by humans either if he were indeed a vampire.
“We can cross that bridge when we come to it, Elvira.” Wogan replied. “For now I think he should remain in our custody. No one has to know it is Davrin’s child. And I’m sure he won’t get wind of it if we just close our minds when we go down to his chamber.” Poor Wogan, he was the good one in this unlikely trio.
NB: A decision has not been made as yet
I'm glad to know Troye is okay for now.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could have killed him off. I'd be too guilt-ridden.
