+ 1.32: Flight

Blaise's Private Aircraft

Davrin sat on the far end of the plane content with his decision to reject Roux’s offer. He didn’t need favours, didn’t take them either. And whatever the other vampire had wanted from him, he wasn’t going to give. He knew, inherently, that when vampires made deals like Roux’s the price was high and often paid for in blood. He cast his gaze over the long narrow aisle of the private plane.

Azaria was trying to console one of her girls. The changing cabin pressure had made her restless, sending her off on a tirade of pained crying. Her sister, more fascinated with the new surroundings, refused to sleep.

“Do you have a sippy cup in the bag?” Blaise, withou invitation, took Rhea from Azaria.
She nodded and handed the vampire the cup.
“Drinking from it will ease the discomfort.” He smiled and rubbed Rhea’s back gently.
Az returned the smile, grateful for his interception. She hadn’t had any time to check up on what to do in this situation. And since she had barely played any role in Troye’s early months, motherhood was still fairly new to her.

She made her way over to Davrin, trusting Blaise with her babies.
“What was going down before I got to the airport?” She didn’t want to beat around the bush with pleasantries and small talk. She wanted to know what other hot messes Davrin was going to get them into - if any.
“Louis Roux... Twinbrook Vampire Council.” He reiterated the other vampire’s introduction before bringing her up to speed - the offer, the uncertain terms.

“Don’t worry, I’m not getting us into any more trouble than we are already in.” He didn’t look at her, feeling ashamed for unintentionally reading her mind - a terrible habit he couldn't really shake. He’d made a promise to himself not to because doing so would only keep her from trusting him wholly.

“We need to tell Troye the truth.” She ignored the snarky attitude he’d displayed seconds earlier. She understood he was stressed, anxious as to how everything would pan out.
“Why?” He sipped his drink contemplatively, allowing himself to consider her words seriously.
“You know why.” She glanced over her shoulder to Troye.
"I don't think I can." He confessed that the one thing he feared about telling Troye the truth was that he'd hate him - and Az.
"Well if you don't, I will. He deserves to know. The sooner the better."

Troye sat quietly, reading a book one of the compelled air hostesses had given him. Anxiety and curiosity were mixing to form a storm in the pit of his stomach. From time to time he would glance up from the clean pages to one of the vampires, and sometimes to the woman who kept asking if he was okay, if he needed anything in between tending to her twins. He silently willed one of them to tell him the truth, to tell him why all of them were there just to escort him back to Bridgeport.
It just doesn't make any sense.

No sooner had he lifted himself off the sofa to confront one of them, had he found himself staring back to what could be an older version of himself. The same nose and glowing amber eyes spoke volumes to him and for a fleeting moment he had the crazy notion that this could be his real father. Maybe there was some truth in Tommy Huffman’s jibes. Maybe he was adopted by the Hemlocks. Maybe. But he hoped not.
"There are some things you need to know."

Back in Twinbrook

“Elvira? It's Louis. I have some news for you.” Louis thought for a moment that he and Elvira would put their animosity for each other aside. He was certain that she would lend her ears where news of Davrin Sinestra was available. And if that news was useful enough she may put in a good word for him to the Bridgeport Council. For years he had searched for avenues to get a firm foot in that door. If he could make it to the top position within that branch of the council he’d have far more power at his hands.

  1. Ohhh wow! I had a bad feeling about this Louis guy! Now I see why!

I agree with Az, telling Troye the truth now may just cup back on time spent angry and confused. He'll have more time to get over it and adjust.

    He is so cute!

  2. He's a real jerk that looks out only for himself.
But knowing D he'll get him back for this betrayal.

They're vampires... they have all the time in the (Sim) world to adjust lol but you are right. It'll save them a lot of arguments and animosity.

  3. Aww. I'm so glad they're telling Troye. That poor kid has had such a turbulent life - maybe knowing who his real parents are will help ground him a bit with all the upcoming chaos that Louis seems intent on causing!

  4. I hope Troye's reaction will be good. It would be so hard to read to the truth will hurt him. The has been trough to much.

  5. @Jilly: Hopefully it will give Troye some stability. Knowing myself, I'd probably freak out and go into a total state of denial. But that's just me.
Hopefully Louis won't get too far with whatever scheme he's hatching. It would be nice for this family to have a bit of a break :D

  6. @Dutchy: I hope so too, haha. But he's actually quite a mature little dude so he might take it quite well. I've already got half the chapter written... Just got to decide on whether I want to end it there or end dramatically.

They really have been through a lot. Hopefully with this new move there will be a few good changes and some quiet time of just bonding.

  7. I knew that Louis was a good for nothing NOT TO BE TRUSTED MF!

Sorry, caps are off now. I'm over my rage.

I'm so glad Dav listened to his gut and he didn't trust him.

Aw, Troye is such a cutie! I hope the truth isn't too much for him.
